David Hart’s polychromatic, tailored Spring 2016 collection is in stark contrast to the Hawaiian and atomic printed displays of seasons past as graphic geometric prints override this season, inspired by those that originated during the German Bauhaus movement of the 1920s and 30s.
The tailored looks centred on the use of summer fabrics such as Irish linen and merino wool. Neon shades were kept playful matched with pastel hues, alongside classic crimson and navy.
Silhouettes were smart, sharp and clean, with this season’s double breasted style being more boxlike, which Hart claims is meant to seem ‘more intimidating.’ Lightweight wool cardigans, Italian silk shirts and woven tuxedo blazers also featured in the collection.
