Using fashion to help the oceans.
After speaking about ASOS’ use of garments to help deprived communities in Kenya just yesterday, it looks like we have yet another company using fashion for good. This time it’s adidas’ collaborative work with Parley for the Oceans that is allowing consumers to help do something positive for the planet without even realising it.
Specifically, the two have produced two pairs of Ultraboost Parley LTD sneakers that features a Primeknit upper, 85% of which has been crafted from Parley Ocean Plastic – a material produced from upcycled waste, a continental rubber outsole, a colour scheme that sports an array of dark blues and greens, Ultra Boost and Ultra Boost X padding, as well as an integrated NFC chip in the right shoe that provides the wearer, through their phone, with exclusive information regarding plastic pollution.
Take a look at the shoes below and get ready for the pair’s drop that is set to take place on the 16th of April.
