The Nike Air Monarch is the epitome of a dad shoe. Beloved across the globe by comfort seeking fathers, it is one of the last trainers you would expect to become a trend, however, with the help of Martine Rose, it has become exactly that. The London based designer reimagined the shoe with unorthodox looking bumps poking out of the sides, originally dreamed up by experimenting with putting a size 18 upper on the sole of a size 9 shoe. Initially released via Craigslist, along with a range of tracksuits and a T-shirt, the collection is available at select retailers.
