Manchester-born outfit Baracuta have stepped forward with Japanese fashion designer Junya Watanabe for a collaborative iteration of their iconic G9 Harrington Jacket.
Looking to bridge the design gap between the east and the west, this newest collaboration between Baracuta and Junya Watanabe forms a unique vision for the G9 Harrington Jacket, with the former’s expertise in craftsmanship and the latter’s eye for design and unparalleled creative flair uniting for a perfect piece for this spring time. Channeling British heritage and a sense of avant-garde, the piece sees Watanabe modify the simplistic jacket by adding a drawstring hood, creating an all-weather ready piece that also features a roomy shape and a striking navy and orange colour scheme. Keeping their place, signature Baracuta design codes like the umbrella back yoke, raglan sleeves, slanted pockets, ribbed cuffs, and the brand’s signature Fraser Tartan lining make their mark on the historical garment. Lastly, more subtle details like the matching orange zip add-on adds a uniformity along with the standout hood, whilst a similarly shaded orange windbreaker flap keeps the vibrant colour scheme going.
