What a Beautiful Coup.
ABAGA VELLI has unveiled a jazz-inspired collection for Spring/Summer 2025, seamlessly blending contemporary menswear with roaring twenties-esque accessories. It’s been titled “Mercii: What a Beautiful Coup.”
The collection is inspired by the rhythms and movements found in jazz, designed to move and shake with each of the wearer’s steps. Loose suiting is the collection’s mainstay, juxtaposing warm tones like blacks and deep blues with warmer caramel’s and olive green. Extended sleeves and slight break on the pants were key tailoring elements on the suits, which carried over to the more relaxed garments.
Pinstripes are a common theme in this collection, represented in the blue and white bowling shirt, as well as a two-piece sleeveless set. As the collection pages are flipped, silhouettes get whackier and flow wider. A blue dress shirt is double stitched with a smock-like layer, knife pleats are added to shorts and shining green pockets offset a black, four button jacket.
