FKA twigs and On have taken the idea of switching off somewhere considerably more immersive, presenting ‘Unwind’, a live experience in Seoul built around sound, movement and the art of slowing down.
Held at Oil Tank Culture Park, the event saw twigs lead audiences through a series of restorative movements, using materials including coal, pebbles and water to create sounds in real time. Rather than simply performing, she became part of the environment, building an evolving soundscape around the audience.
‘Unwind’ coincides with the launch of the second On x FKA twigs capsule, this time centred on what happens after performance: recovery, restoration and finding a moment to reset.
In a culture that increasingly treats rest as another thing to optimise, the collaboration offers a more considered proposition: sometimes, doing less can be its own kind of performance.
