Vogue is Moving The Met Gala Online

The first Monday in May will not be the date of the Met Gala this year as it has been postponed indefinitely due to Covid-19. To make up for this, Vogue is launching ‘A Momet with The Met’, a livestream which will take place on the magazines YouTube channel.

Streaming from 6pm ET on May 4, the livestream will have exclusive performances by Virgil Abloh, who will be DJing, and Florence and The Machine. Alongside this there will be a look back at past Met Galas, with never-before-seen footage of celebrities such as Cardi B, Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney.

Run every year to support the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, the exclusie event always delivers with extravagent red carpet looks. Vogue will be donating to the costume institute and the Vogue and the CFDA’s “A Common Thread” initiative alongside this live stream.
