A gift from the late great Virgil.
Sharing a touching post via his Instagram post, musician Theophilus London gave us a first look at the Off-White x Nike Blazer Low, designed by the late Virgil Abloh.
Declared by Theophilus as the “first posthumous release from Nike ever”, this sneaker is bound to garner a lot of attention in the sneakerhead community. More importantly, though, the shoe’s posthumous-style release underlines the widespread impact that Abloh had on the community around him, with the release also looking to remember the ever-lasting legacy that he has left in the world of fashion and design.
The shoe itself is covered in Virgil Abloh’s design touch, taking the classic Nike Blazer Low ’77 and reimagining it in the Off-White way. Some of the standout features include circular cutouts on the upper and a protruding heel piece that stretches out the back of the midsole. Its colour scheme stays predominantly white, with splashes of yellow, red, and blue making appearances on the shoe’s accents. The sneaker also features dual lacing systems, the signature Off-White zip tie, and an aged cream midsole.
Several pairs have been handed out to friends and family in the past few weeks, with there being no word on a public release date yet. Stay tuned to PAUSE for more details.
