A Long-Awaited Announcement.
Despite being on of 2024’s most well-known secrets, the metaphorical Louis Vuitton x Timberland cat is now most definitely out of the bag, with the luxury French fashion house now officially confirming the collaboration.
The joint effort reared its head consistently over this past few months or so, being initially shared by the one and only Pharrell Williams. Seen on the feet of a plethora of friends and family of the LV men’s creative director and the brand itself, the Louis Vuitton x Timberland collaboration made a more official debut last week, being spotted on the feet of models in LV’s newest Fall/Winter 2024 campaign. Keeping that momentum going, the luxury mainstays step forward with a separate announcement for the anticipated joint effort with Timberland, debuting three new efforts. Set to release later this year, the LV 6-INCH, LV BOOT, and LV 6-INCH “Exceptional Edition” all make up the fall and winter ready capsule.
The prior mentioned LV 6-INCH no doubt leads the way for the range and arrives in traditional wheat and black adaptations, utilising premium supple Italian nubuck leather, technical features such as an insulation system and seam-sealed waterproof construction, as well as a signature rubber lug outsole. Of course, Louis Vuitton’s craftsmanship arrives through a both elegant and subtle LV Monogram embossment that becomes visible up close, whilst a Monogram-embossed tongue lining, Louis Vuitton eyelets, and leather tag adornments underline a keen eye for detail.
Secondly, the LV Boot magnifies the 6-Inch silhouette by fifteen percent for a more direct take on the classic and reimagines it in five different ways, with each pair featuring the iconic rubber lug outsole. For instance, an ankle boot makes its way in wheat-coloured or black grained leather and opts for a Monogram-embossed tongue lining and leather tag adornments, whilst a ranger boot dons an elongated shaft, lace hooks, and strap details. Furthermore, a pull-on mid boot boasts bag puller details and brown leather ankle cuffs, whilst also being put together in wheat-coloured or black nubuck leather. Last but not least, a pull-on harness boot champions the cowboy aesthetic through side buckles in addition to a harness.
Lastly, in typical Pharrell Williams fashion the LV 6-INCH ankle boot is given a luxe, elevated makeover. Being the most collaborative pair in the line-up, Louis Vuitton’s shoe, jewellery, and hard sided experts and departments collided for this singular work boot, which opts for Classic Monogram premium supple waterproof Italian leather on a tailored interpretation of the work boot rubber lug outsole. Taking things up a notch, the pair is embellished with 18K gold LV tongue initials, Louis Vuitton eyelets, lace tips, and tag hardware, with the LV tongue initials being inscribed with the words “THE SUN IS SHINING ON US,” a sentiment laid out by Pharrell Williams upon his debut show for Louis Vuitton way back in June 2023.
A Louis Vuitton x Timberland workwear boot will initially be up for grabs via pre-launch on July 18th, with a full worldwide release arriving on August 8th.
