In a colab that flew under the radar for anyone not in Sydney, Carhartt WIP just linked up with Nike and Australian streetwear imprint SUPPLY for a limited-edition drop held at the Emerald City’s annual SURPLUS festival.
For those not in the know, SURPLUS made its debut in Sydney last year, bringing together more than 120 local and international names across fashion, sneakers and culture. The event spans everything from exclusive footwear offerings and live music to art installations, zine launches, food pop-ups from the likes of Scarr’s Pizza and Matty’s Patty’s, plus skate and movement events.
Returning for its second edition last weekend, SURPLUS once again provided the backdrop for exclusive releases, including the Carhartt WIP, Nike and SUPPLY capsule, which was available solely at the festival’s Marketplace. Pieces included an exclusive Santa Fe Jacket with faux-leather sleeves, as well as a zip-up hoodie, matching fleece shorts and short- and long-sleeved T-shirts.
Stealing the spotlight was the duo’s Air Max Goadome Low, which debuted in three colourways. First released in 2000 under the Swoosh’s All Conditions Gear (ACG) banner, the original boot was designed for outdoor use before finding a second life on the streets of New York and Washington, D.C.
