The release of the new film ‘The Great Gatsby’ has set pace, and we’re sure to see its influence on fashion in the weeks to come. The romantic drama is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s 1920 novel which was co-written and directed by Baz Luhrmann director of “Romeo + Juliet” and “Moulin Rouge.” Two great timeless films which never grow old. The Twenties Era has been edging its way into the fashion world gradually taking us back , as seen by the dapper Justin Timberlake in Suit and Tie.
Set in the roaring 20’s of New York City, fashion takes its mark here. Many high street stores like The Kooples , Zara and even H&M have created, stylish tailored and casual pieces which reflect the era of economic prosperity.
The Booming 20’s look is all about looking prim and proper; that means fella’s it’s the year of the gentleman! Suits, blazers and bold pattern prints are a hit this spring summer. Suits worn with stand up collars and printed pocket squares or handkerchiefs peeping out of the breast pocket is just what you need if you’re out somewhere fancy trying to make a good impression. Basic sweaters, structured shirts with bold coloured or patterned shorts will get u noticed, adding some beige or burgundy brogues to the look to create a modern twist – if you’re trying to keep is casual.
Looking effortlessly flawless and with impeccable taste is what many of these brands have tried to recreate and are doing a mighty good job at it.
