Return of the AJ1?
The return of the Nike Air Jordan 1 silhouette could be on the cards with this latest release as Nigerian superstar Rema took to Twitter to share a clear look at an upcoming “AIR REMA” release.
Having long had an affiliation with global music artists, ranging from the likes of Travis Scott and DJ Khaled to Skepta and J Balvin, Nike and Air Jordan are continuing down their path of worldwide collaboration as they team up with Nigerian singer Rema for a new AJ1 release. Handing Rema their most popular silhouette, Nike’s newest venture follows in the earth-tone footsteps of one Travis Scott, who has had unprecedented success with this high and low iterations of the iconic sneaker. For this “AIR REMA” release, a high-top Air Jordan 1 arrives in a washed brown suede across the upper and central Nike Swoosh, with simple white leather making a customary appearance on the underlying toe box and midfoot areas. Additionally, some alternate standout features include an aged brown ankle material, album-themed “RAVE” text on the heel, as well as a pre-aged cream midsole. Lastly, a splatter-design co-branded Rema x Nike shoe box is seen alongside the pair, looking set to be the official packaging of the high-profile sneakers.
Whilst no release date has been set for this pair as of yet, a drop is expected soon. Stay tuned to PAUSE for more information as it arrives.
