Blending Irony with Sophistication.
Daniel Fletcher’s Pre-Spring 2026 collection for Mithridate, aptly titled “The Joys of Spring,” is an ode to British summertime, infused with a sophisticated global sensibility. His sophomore collection for the Guangzhou-based brand continues to bridge Eastern and Western influences, building on the foundations of his debut with a lighter, more playful touch.
Fletcher’s inspiration for Pre-Spring 2026 is deeply rooted in quintessentially British summer rituals, from the leisurely pace of Henley Regatta and days spent on Hampstead Heath with a good book, to the more hedonistic evenings of Soho. These idyllic scenes are reflected in a wardrobe designed for seamless transitions, embracing both sun-drenched days and cooler nights.
A significant muse for Fletcher this season is the sartorial style of a young David Hockney. The collection mirrors Hockney’s bold approach to colour and texture, with “awkward” pastels, think sun-faded wallpapers mixed with richer tones and unexpected pairings of spots and stripes. This artistic sensibility is infused into the collection, creating a sense of effortless, curated style.
The collection also takes a cue from the undone glamour of rock icons like Mick Jagger and Jarvis Cocker, particularly for the eveningwear. Expect tailored pieces softened with an easy nonchalance, alongside embellished satin dresses and aged leather that exude a refined, yet rebellious, spirit.
