A first for two unlikely brands.
Hiroshi Fujiwara’s brand fragment, known for their collabs with Nike and Jordan brand, have teamed up with Tommy Hilfiger for the first time, titled “Tommy Hilfiger x FRGMNT”.
With denim at the forefront of the collection, the release also features outwear knitted sweaters and jackets with polka dots spread across, with a focus on oversized silhouettes. Tommy Hilfiger’s signature red hue gets a refresh, too, with Fujiwara swapping it out for a light blue shade, while fragment design’s double thunderbolt logo makes an appearance across selected pieces.
Though there is evidence of Tommy Hilfiger’s ’80s-inspired American prep style, the streetwear proportions reimagine the brand’s traditional aesthetic through a contemporary lens, drawing on ’90s New York hip-hop culture and the way street kids made classic prep their own. Nautical-inspired details also nod to the brand’s historical archives, bringing together Tommy Hilfiger’s heritage with Fujiwara’s streetwear sensibilities.
The “Tommy Hilfiger x FRGMNT” collection drops on 15 October via Tommy Hilfiger’s store and select locations.
