This week the PAUSE team were privileged to be in attendance at the three day spectacular that was London Collections: Men. Building on the success of last year’s inaugural showcase, the second edition was a fitting celebration of the breadth and variety of London’s menswear brands.
YMC (You Must Create) presented some of the most wearable garments for the AW13 season. In their show on Tuesday 8th January the label struck a perfect balance between British heritage and sharp street wear. Traditional patterns pervade. Tartan, golfing diamond prints and checks all punctuate a collection which is faithful to sartorial elegance whilst maintaining edge through touches like tight ankle trousers, pink creeper shoes and tailored wool blazers with sweatshirt-esque wristbands.
From such an astounding collection it is difficult to choose one specific PAUSE Pick. Rather, here are a number of standout features from YMC’s wholly useful and transferable offering, all of which are surely eligible to become firm trends of AW13.
Black Watch Tartan
Checkered Pattern
Greens and Blues
Fisherman Sweater
The Beret
Last but not least, the iconic French hat was worn throughout the show.
