Comic Relief weekend seems a more than apt point to highlight the great work of Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF). Often overlooked, this organisation works in nearly 70 countries providing medical aid to those most in need regardless of their race, religion, or political affiliation. Police Eyewear is celebrating its thirty-year anniversary through the “Look Beyond” initiative which includes a beautifully made book of photographs and special edition sunglasses to support the “Forgotten Crises” of Doctors Without Borders.
A number of personalities from across the worlds of sport, art, music, theatre and film have modelled for the campaign and the result is a remarkable collection of portraits shot by Italian photographer Michele Pecchioli.
The special edition glasses retain the classic aviator shape and boast a number of new embellishments, including special gold plating and details such as leather inserts and the iconic winged Police logo.
More importantly, part of the proceeds from the sale of the book and the special edition glasses will be donated by Police to Doctors Without Borders, providing a complete cycle of treatment based on ready to use therapeutic foods for at least 600 malnourished children in the Sahel region of Africa.
