Last Thursday PAUSE went along to a rather impressive secret gig at Boxpark. In association with London Electronic Arts Festival, Puma hosted a night dedicated to the exposure of new artist Cyril Hahn with support from Wayward. Initially known for his unique remixes of Destiny’s Child and Mariah Carey tracks. The talented Hahn has followed on from this by putting his own twist on tracks from Solange Knowles, Haim and Sigur Ros too. Having landed a recent deal with PMR Records (home to Disclosure, Jessie Ware and Sam Smith!) Hahn is set to hit the charts hard with his new single Perfect Form, and if his set last Thursday is anything to go by it will be the first of many more to come.
With an expected musical buzz and East London vibe, Hackney’s trendiest gathered in full force to stomp away to Hahn’s sickest beats. With remixes of Drake and the like keeping it entirely current, eager listeners grew only more intrigued as the set went on. His boyish charm coupled with complete involvement in his work, radiated from the decks throughout. Placing him firmly on the map as one to truly watch in the future.
