When it comes to high street shopping, River Island comes up trumps each and every season for forward designs and directional styling. This is no different for SS14. With clashed prints and bold colours heading up the front of the collection, more trendy separates also maintain a strong presence throughout. In particular all over printed outfits and bomber jackets, which by the looks of this collection appear to remain as present in men’s fashion as they have this season.
Florals appear as expected for spring, but are modernised by way of eye-catching artistic prints as well as more muted softer inclusions. Ever with a wide appeal in mind, this collection will also grab the attention of the more sartorial dresser with checked trousers, fitted blazers and classic Breton stripes all on offer too.
Contrasts appear strong throughout with both print and colour working in blocks. As well as vibrant accessories such as the neon and printed trainers, both of which add a playful touch to the already youthful aesthetic.
Proving that high street needn’t mean losing any points when it comes to style. River Island are simply leading the way for fashion conscious finds next season.
