Versace’s younger, secondary line Versus, has just released its FW14 lookbook. Rather than creating a concept lookbook, the brand has taken a simplistic approach and solely focused on the designs.
The clothes reflect Versus’ ethos of being fashion forward and predicting trends, with the new line having a strong focus on innovation and the unconventional. The brand oozes a certain attitude with every release and FW14 is no different; rock chic. A large bold chain sweat suit and crazy hippie rainbow prints inspired by the psychedelic age are just two looks Versus are ‘stepping out the fashion circle’ with.
Versus also offers very simplistic pieces that have been tweaked to add an urban edge. Leather pieces have been given a splash of gold detailing with their zips and buttons. Tailoring sees them use bold maroon and timeless grey.
In keeping with trends we all saw at LC:M and even at LFW, trench coats and roll necks feature in Versus’ collection, both working well together. Moreover, the varsity trend fails to disappear, with the sister label creating a premium smart preppy look, using a clean cream and styling it with leather arms and gold detailing, for a really new take on what seems to be a lasting trend.
Versus FW14 is an exciting collection and one PAUSE is looking forward to when it is released.
