One Direction hit the awards in 5 way matching black and white monochrome, a strong trend for SS14. Harry Styles, fresh from the Burberry front row, particularly stood out in a printed Alexander McQueen shirt.
Nick Grimshaw, a man increasingly noted for his new-found attention to fashion, went for a louche, rock influenced look in a brown high-shine printed dinner jacket, trademark skinny jeans, Saint Laurent patent chelsea boots and leopard print scarf.
Tom Odell was a lesson in how to make the simple stand out. In a long-length double-breasted navy overcoat, five-button black waistcoat with crisp white shirt, Odell’s look was classic tailoring at it’s best.
Disclosure were a surprise style highlight, brothers Guy and Howard Lawrence trading in their preferred hoodies and jeans for a slick sophisticated look. Their suits – black and high-shine grey, were worn with chunky brogues and tassled loafers respectively.
Of course, no red carpet event would be complete without Pharrell Williams. Sadly without his vintage Vivienne Westwood hat, Williams arrived in a sparkling dark silver Lanvin suit, accessorised with statement black bowtie and rolled-up trouser cuffs, proving yet again that formal can also mean fun.
