PFW: Saint Laurent SS15 Collection

On the last day of fashion week in Paris, the slogan found on each chair at the Saint Laurent show was “Psych Rock’s New Rising”, and with rock, obviously comes black.

In a scene of futuristic engineering and sci-fi lights, Saint Laurent promised to bring rock to the catwalk. The show started with the expectant blacks, ranging from shirts to skinny jeans, and there was plenty of great leather garments for SS15, which PAUSE loved.

Striped ponchos, sheepskin vests, army inspired garments and even matching snakeskin jackets and boots were on all on the runway to encapsulate the mood the brand wanted to portray. PAUSE felt these were very safe ideas and were executed very well, as expected.

Among the copious amounts of black, Slimane’s collection for Saint Laurent also included a number of patterns, a leopard print jacket being a standout item. Floral and paisley also made appearances, showing a more playful side to the collection. More casual items were also found in the show such as tassle jackets and shirts, also found in Topman’s SS15 show at LC:M.

Accessories from the show were oversized scarves and casual top hat styles.
