Richard James doesn’t seem to be able to disappoint. His SS15 collection was excellent. Throughout it was very clear that the theme was explorers and safari. The burnt colours, suits with big-buttoned patch pockets and shirts with printed maps gave a strong indication of the theme. The palette was beige, Acne orange, moss greens and pasty blues. The whole collection pretty much was tied together with staple desert boots. There was contemporary tailoring with their beige suits and they added a pop with printed shirts. They kept with the trend of minimal slip-ons – perhaps a new staple to menswear? We loved the Pitti Uomo-esque soft-shouldered linen jackets – slight hints of sprezzatura. The collection has a high fashion vibe to it with the materials and colour schemes used – excellent all in all.
