Kolor is back with it’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection at Paris Fashion Week.
Junichi Abe from Japan started the label Kolor in 2004, with the intention to create “optimal balance” within all his crafted clothes. He is known for carefully choosing fabrics, patterns and all details beyond. For his Spring/Summer 2016 presentation at Paris Fashion Week, the designer showcases a military theme with camouflage and utility pockets, which may be a little of a surprise since starting from the beginning of his career, Abe chose not to follow the military and sportswear trends. Either way he did it very well, so a change of mind clearly doesn’t hurt once in a while. The main act of his show was the suiting, which is cut in slouchy proportions and with unexpected details, becoming the signature look from the Kolor playbook.
Junichi is a great inspiration teaching us that we do not have to stray too far from the classics to make a look interesting. A good reminder that once you’ve got a basic wardrobe, you can do wonders with adding details, accessories and playing with proportions (going over-sized, longer or shorter sleeves or tailor the length of your pants), to add the finishing touches to it. Nonetheless, the Kolor Spring/Summer 2016 collection is available below, and don’t forget to let us think in the comment box.
