Celebration of diversity.
Catherine Teatum and Rob Jones, the creative minds behind Teatum Jones, just presented their newest collection titled ”The Body | Part One” at London Fashion Week. Teatum Jones’ Fall/Winter 2017 collection was inspired by German artist Hans Bellmer who produced anatomically unconventional dolls. The designers said that they wanted to ”deconstruct the body without prejudice.” Their collection featured a very empowering soundtrack themed around ”reclaiming the body.” Rag’n’Bone Man’s ”Human”, Massive Attack’s ”Teardrop” and Meryl Streep’s critique of Donald Trump’s comments about a reporter with disabilities were all part of the soundtrack. Models of different ethnicities, physiques and two with visible disabilities walked the runway. The collection was all about imperfect geometrical shapes, uneven lengths and modern take on tailoring.
