Rapper-turned-actor Common just joined forces with Modern Luxury, appearing in the pages of its June 2017 issue. Photographed by Brian Bowen Smith and styled by Micaela Erlanger, the rapper becomes a vision of contemporary fashion, rocking brands like Marni, Theory and Dior Homme. Covering Angeleno, CS, Orange County and San Diego editions, Common openly discusses his role as Sergeant Gunny Martin in his most recent film.
“I feel you owe it to the people that lived that life…if I’m playing an individual, even if I don’t meet him, I must depict him as a full-fledged human being, and give him the honor and respect he deserves,” he tells Modern Luxury.
