Known for its innovative approach to footwear, Salomon has worked together with Parisian label Avnier to create its latest version of the S-Lab XT 5 Softground.
Dubbed the “Mirage Effect” the youth-fashion label added a neutral-toned upper to the technical sneaker, inspired by the various hues found in the desert. An electric blue sole juxtaposes this subdued upper, giving the effect of a water mirage.
Speaking on the latest sneaker Sébastian Strappazzon, Avnier’s creative director, says he wanted to “explore the paradox between freedom and restraint, relaxed and controlled, dualities that one may find through the desolated landscapes of the Sahara.”
