Available to stream exclusively on Netflix, October 2nd.
The long-standing music podcast ‘Song Exploder’ by Hrishikesh Hirway is set to make its television debut as Netflix plan to convert it into a docuseries.
Utilising its usual concept of taking artists and making them analyse and discuss the meaning behind their songs, the first series looks to explore behind the creative curtain of Alicia Keys, Ty Dolla $ign, Lin-Manual Miranda and R.E.M.
Unveiled by Netflix’s official trailer (below), it sees some of the industry’s biggest artists in their most vulnerable state, exposed through their musical ability and own capabilities.
Hirway created the acclaimed podcast series back in 2014, 192 episodes later and a handful of awards including ‘Best Music Podcast 2016/17’, Hirway has also admitted: “It’s been so exciting to turn it into a television show, because it’s provided a chance to immerse yourself in the music, and the ideas behind the music, in a deeper way than I ever imagined.”
