With the recent announcement that Cardi B will stand as the new face of Balenciaga, it’s since been revealed the campaign imagery was self-styled, self-produced and captured by the artist during the Coronavirus lockdown in LA.
Presenting the musical maven in a long navy blue gown with the Balenciaga new Neo Classic alongside her, the lead image has now made its way onto one of the Louvre’s nearby billboards. Noticed by Cardi herself, she posted the shot alongside the caption:
“Ya lookin at the face of a @Balenciaga campaign!, I remember how I felt seeing myself on a billboard in NYC Times Square but PARIS! Wish I was there to see it in person!”
