PAUSE Picks: New Music Friday

By September 25, 2020Music

As September swiftly draws to an end...deep dive into October with our freshest selection of new music this Friday as we offer you the latest tracks you need in your rotation.

TRAVIS SCOTT ft. YOUNG THUG and M.I.A – FRANCHISE

Travis Scott taps Young Thug and M.I.A for latest drop ‘Franchise’, produced by frequent collaborator Chase B. After a few days of online speculation and the revelation of artwork by My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy artist George Condo, the rapper’s latest visual offering boasts a shot of Michael Jordan’s Chicago area mansion, paying homage to 23. Whilst the ingenious visuals see Travis and Thug living it up, M.I.A is spotted in a rather different location, surrounded by sheep shielded by a horde of flowers.

TAME IMPALA – BORDERLINE (BLOOD ORANGE REMIX)

Tame Impala has shared Blood Orange’s remix to ‘Borderline’. The original single is taken from the Billboard Music Award nominee’s fourth album ‘The Slow Rush’. Whilst sticking to the original instrumentation, augmentation of Impala’s vocals and drum-use, Blood Orange reworked the classic acclaim.

DA BEATFREAKZ ft. DUTCHAVELLI, DIGDAT and B YOUNG – 808

Marking their second all-star release of the year, Da Beatfreakz enlists an ultimate link up with some of the UK’s popular musicians to bring a trio of back-to-back flows and melodies.

ANDERSON .PAAK ft. RICK ROSS – CUT EM IN

Anderson. Paak links up with Rick Ross for their joint collaboration ‘CUT EM IN’. Directed by .Paak himself, the duo take it back to high-school senior year. It’s all going off in the 2002 Van Wilder inspired video, from pep rally’s to cafeteria cyphers – even their teacher (played by King Bach) seems overworked!

GUNNA – SUN CAME OUT

Gunna comes through with colourful, artistic visuals for his WUNNA deluxe single ‘SUN CAME OUT’. Flying out to Brisbane with his crew, the joyful video sees the Georgia-native meet fans, performs at largely populated shows, and keeping up the work rate with that seems to be a future collaboration with Cordae.

CHRIS BROWN ft. YOUNG THUG – SAY YOU LOVE ME

What seemed to have us gripping on a cliff-hanger at the end of Chris Brown and Young Thug’s ‘Go Crazy’ visuals are now here. Breezy and Thugger reunited for their latest offering of visuals for track ‘Say You Love Me’. Continuing the house party from ‘Go Crazy’, the duo is then transported through dimensions of an animated world.

A$AP FERG ft. TYGA – DENNIS RODMAN

Taken from his newly released album ‘Floor Seats II’, A$AP Ferg enlists Tyga for new single and accompanying video titled ‘Dennis Rodman’. Paying homage to the Bulls legend himself, Rodman also announced the release of the album initially. Taking things on court alongside Rodman the referee, the high-octane visual is a must-watch.

HOPE TALA – ALL MY GIRLS LIKE TO FIGHT

London-based Hope Tala releases single ‘All My Girls Like To Fight’ taken from her forthcoming EP Girls Eat Sun. Boasting a visually-striking video for her stunning track, the Millicent Hailes-directed cut is considered to serve as a statement of intent.

MOSTACK ft. AJ TRACEY – MISS ME

MoStack and AJ Tracey are fast establishing themselves as one of the hottest collaborators in the UK. With Fashion Week, Dinner Guest, and Floss already under their belts, the dynamic duo is back with satirical visuals for their latest track ‘Miss Me’. The stellar video directed by Wowa gives off ultimate 70s vibes, with noticeable references to both Kanye West’s ‘I Love It’ and Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya!’ It’s the only way to groove into the weekend!
