London-based label ERDEM has brought its romantic eye to the world of menswear with the launch of its inaugural collection men’s collection for Spring 2021.
First shown in June, the collection was shot against the backdrop of a beach on an overcast day and is inspired by Patrick Prockter’s paintings and the wardrobe of film director Derek Jarman. These influences culminate into a sophisticated selection of pieces that toy with classic menswear items. For example, a camel-hued trench coat is elevated through the use of a floral pattern that covers it and a belt that is similar to a cummerbund.
Central to the collection is its knitwear. Coming in a range of tones from a rich yellow to dark burgundy, there is a selection of jumpers, sweater vests and cardigans that are created using mohair and cashmere. Whether you opt for the retro-infused stripes or a bold single-toned variation of the knitwear, it is perfect for keeping cosy in.
