Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang and Converse have released their collaborative iterations of the famous Chuck 70 and Pro Leather silhouettes, giving the famous pairs a monochromatic makeover.
pgLang is a creative outlet founded by music superstar Kendrick Lamar and Dave Free, with its defined objective being to “tell stories that transcend language and connect shared experiences.” With their first Converse collaboration, they look set to capture exactly that. As an L.A. native, Kendrick Lamar has been quoted as being a big admirer of Converse, who themselves are a staple of the Californian sneaker scene, with this release capturing the essence of storytelling that Lamar and Converse are so notoriously adept at. The first of the two released pairs sees pgLang take a minimalist approach to the Converse Chuck 70, with the pair adorning an all-white upper, hiking eyelets, a pgLang hang tag, as well as collaborative ‘pgLang for Converse’ branding on the midfoot. The Converse Pro Leather also rocks an all-white colour scheme whilst additionally utilising aged cream for the midsole and Converse overlays. The pair also keep pgLang x Converse branding and the previously mentioned hiking eyelets.
The pgLang x Converse sneaker capsule is available now via the Converse website.
