The long-awaited Dior x Birkenstock collaboration is finally upon us, with the luxury French brand unveiling reinterpretations of the classic Birkenstock Tokio mules and Milano sandals.
Initially teased in their Autumn/Winter 2022 runway show back in January and finally released today, the pairs stick to a black and grey colour scheme, with both silhouettes receiving this makeover. The reimagined versions of the Birkenstock Tokio Mules, which come in a solid black or grey colourway, arrive with uppers composed of nubuck calfskin and a reinforced toe that boasts a tonal rubber, with a collaboratively branded aluminium buckle, adjustable back strap, as well as a sculpted EVA outsole with a Dior Oblique and Bones gradient motif completing the pair.
The Milano Sandal also boasts nubuck calfskin, an adjustable back strap, a branded buckle, and the Dior Oblique and Bones gradient motif, keeping to the simple composition of the previously discussed Tokio Mules. The differences arrive in the pair’s more open and breathable shape, which adds a distinctly more relaxed tone to the collection, with a doubled buckle providing the other most obvious aesthetic difference.
