Arriving this Week.
Japanese clothing brand BEAMS have joined forces with 2022’s underdog footwear brand ASICS for an off-the-wall iteration of the GEL-KAYANO 14.
Having already collaborated with the likes of atoms and PLEASURES, ASICS are back it again as the GEL-KAYANO 14 gets reimagined by streetwear outfit BEAMS, who get in on the act with a netted iteration of the popular sneaker. Arguably one of the most popular silhouettes of the year, the GEL-KAYANO 14 continues to draw eyes as the low-lying style receives a redesigned appearance for this release, boasting a high-top netted appearance that takes inspiration from the word “Kaya”, which translates as the Japanese word for mosquito nets.
Coming off the back of this double entendre, the pair arrives in a predominantly black colourway and features a removable mosquito net-style upper shroud, adjustable Fidlock straps and pull tabs, an aged cream cushioned midsole, as well as signature ASICS midfoot branding and GORE-TEX toe lettering. Set to release alongside the sneaker, ASICS and BEAMS have also joined forces for three garments, unveiling a collaboratively branded bucket hat, pants, as well as a long-sleeved pullover.
The BEAMS x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 is set to release on October 1st via the BEAMS website.
