With stores in shopping districts of London and Paris, Axel Arigato has expanded to Berlin for a new retail space in the heart of the Mitte district at the intersection of Weinmeisterstraße and Neue Schönhauser Street. The store is designed by the menswear brand’s longstanding partner Hallrod, an architecture studio, who have transformed the space from an institutional restaurant to an immersive retail experience.
The Scandanavian roots come through strongly in this space with the minimalistic approach that gives the garments and footwear the platform to really shine. The brightly designed store, thanks to the roman travertine stone across the floor and podiums, is helped by the panoramic glass windows that not only offer an abundance of sunlight to enter but give any passersby a sneak peek into the store’s offerings. High-gloss columns also fill the space to reflect light as well as floor-to-ceiling mirrors which are ideal for mirror pictures that will surely be taken by most customers.
