An Unlikely Pairing.
When thinking of Stüssy’s potential collaborators, Dries Van Noten isn’t a name that would come naturally to many neither is it easy to imagine. Luckily, we won’t have to try for long as the two brands have just announced a collaboration through a teaser video that went up on both of their Instagram accounts. The video sees a guest appearance from Red Hot Chilli Peppers band member Flea facing away from the camera to show off a collaborative varsity jacket.
Although it is quite an unusual collaboration, Stüssy’s design direction in recent collections says it might not be as unexpected as we think. The streetwear brand has been experimenting with more formal cuts and chic prints that would only be elevated with the input of the high fashion brand.
