A Rare Denim Moment.
Tapping into new markets thanks to a Stüssy collaboration earlier this year, Dries Van Noten capitalises on this newfound momentum with a surprise Spring/Summer 2023 drop from their atypical release calendar to steer away from fashion’s suffocating schedule. Inspired by Belgian painter Jef Verheyen, Van Noten uses the ombre technique used by the contemporary artist to create soft gradients with subtly contrasting colours.
This motif can be found in this new denim capsule where pieces with a light-wash jean base are given a white dye makeover to create a natural, high-contrast gradient to the soft blue. Each garment is hand-treated to achieve this elusively artisanal look. Some standout silhouettes include a belted denim jacket, pleated jeans and everything in between.
The collection is set to release on April 19th via the Dries Van Noten website.
