Bringing in more of their fantastical design style, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy have stepped forward with their latest AW23′ drop, titled ‘THE ENGINE ROOM’.
Unveiling a new selection of pieces in this latest campaign, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy have made sure to stay firmly in line what have made them such a standout outfit in the past, with their eccentric approach to fashion shining through once again here. ‘THE ENGINE ROOM’ represents “a murky underworld filled with toxic fumes, haphazard machinery and labyrinthine walkways”, with the campaign breaking down the outfits in more ways than one as annotated diagrams arrive alongside the standout pieces. This dystopia atmosphere sees workers responsible “for feeding the furnaces, thus keeping the heavenly floating city of Ajuka from falling out of the sky. If they work hard enough, some are granted citizenship and the chance of a fresh start.” Simultaneously acting as a trap, ‘THE ENGINE ROOM’ puts forward a sense of darkness that contrasts Charles Jeffrey Loverboy’s more recent work, with some standout garments including a face motif overcoat, a black knitted jumper adorned with stitched red gloves, as well as a white mohair-style iteration of the brand’s iconic ‘Floppy Ears’ hat.
Charles Jeffrey Loverboy’s second AW23′ drop is available to shop via the brand’s website now.
