East-Meets-West.
Proving the endless capabilities of collaboration, Levi’s and Kenzo come together for Fall 2023 in Nigo’s first link-up as Kenzo’s Artistic Director to marry the cultural heritages of the Parisian-Japanese fashion house and the historic American brand.
Exploring the ongoing conversation between historical Japanese dressmaking and classic American workwear, the twenty (or so) piece collection is underpinned by the collab’s East-meets-West philosophy while reaffirming Kenzo’s ‘real-to-wear’ functional approach to its craft.
Primarily crafted from Kaihara Japanese denim, the capsule expands across both men’s and women’s ready-to-wear styles including casual tailoring, custom 501 jeans, embroidered shirts, standout fringe jackets, dungarees, and paisley bandanas.
Cinematically brought to life by Japanese filmmaker Umi Ishihara in Kyoto (don’t sing Phoebe Bridgers) at two of its traditional sansou mountain villas through the medium of moving imagery, the campaign is complete with a series of intimate stills by the Inner Mongolian photographer, Ryu Ika.
The Levi’s x Kenzo collection is now available both online and in-store.
