A Rival to the Samba?
Despite the turning of the year, it looks as though streetwear mainstays Stüssy and sportswear giants Nike are up to their old tricks as fresh imagery arrives for a collaborative LD-1000 sneaker.
Potentially looking to bridge the gap between them and adidas – and most notably the widespread success of the Samba silhouette – Nike look set to unite with Stüssy once again for a joint take on the LD-1000, a pair straight from the archives. The wholly retro silhouette takes things back to Nike’s early running origins as this simplistically designed effort utilises a tasteful mesh composition, with an overlapping suede aligning with popular silhouettes in the current sneaker climate. Coming in with a dose of their signature green, Stüssy spread this vibrant shade of lime across the entirety of the shoe, including the laces, with alternate design features including a co-branded tongue and rear “Stüssy” lettering, an angled tread sole unit, as well as a stitched Nike midfoot Swoosh.
No release date or official confirmation has arrived for this pair as of yet, but stay tuned to PAUSE for any new information regarding a release.
