Back at It.
Clare Waight Keller, previously known for her successful Uniqlo: C collection launched last September, has now been appointed as Uniqlo’s creative director. This new role extends her influence beyond the Uniqlo: C line to include the brand’s core offerings, encompassing beloved staples like cashmere, merino wool, and other LifeWear essentials.
Waight Keller promises fresh updates across Uniqlo’s range, introducing new fashion shapes and silhouettes every other month, with a focus on evolving the color palette and adding more feminine touches, prints, and trendy silhouettes to the women’s collection. With her background from Givenchy and Chloé, she acknowledges the learning curve at Uniqlo but emphasizes the importance of timeless pieces alongside new, fashion-forward designs. Upcoming highlights include a new wide-leg denim style and innovative Pufftech pieces. Waight Keller’s own style has shifted towards a more casual, sporty look, reflecting her mission to blend comfort with fashion at Uniqlo. She also plans to expand the brand’s flat shoe selection, addressing a notable gap in the market.
