Breaking: Adrian Appiolaza Exits Moschino

The Argentinian designer is stepping down after two and a half years at the Italian fashion house!

Adrian Appiolaza is departing from his role as creative director of Moschino, bringing his two-and-a-half-year run at the Italian fashion house to an end. The brand confirmed the news on Friday, with a replacement set to be announced in due course.

Appiolaza joined Moschino in January 2024 following the sudden death of Davide Renne, who had been appointed following Jeremy Scott’s departure just days before his passing. Prior to joining the house, the Argentinian designer spent a decade at Loewe as womenswear design director under Jonathan Anderson, having also held roles at Chloé, Louis Vuitton and Miu Miu.

During his time at Moschino, Appiolaza sought to reconnect the house with the playful spirit and irreverence of founder Franco Moschino, reintroducing the brand’s signature playful style through a more wearable approach to ready-to-wear. His collections often referenced the maison’s archives while introducing a more contemporary perspective.

In a statement, Appiolaza thanked Aeffe Group and the Moschino team, describing his time at the brand as an “intense experience”. His next move has yet to be announced.

There’s already speculation surrounding who could take over the role as fashion’s ongoing game of creative director musical chairs continues.
