New designer Julian Woodhouse kicked off Monday morning of NYFWM with a collection inspired by his time growing up in military posts throughout Europe and Asia. The Wood House collection featured wrapped trousers, collarless shirts, and mid-length coats with kimono style tie-fronts. Bold, geometric patterns in orange, blue and white found their way onto capes, suits and trousers, which is where the collection really starts to flourish. The colour palette doesn’t drift too far from orange, white and a lot of blue but splashes of red and barely-there pink, Woodhouse’s use of denim for texture and these brilliant geometric prints stop the collection from looking two dimensional.
