Burberry's Burning.
Burberry has landed in hot water with critics, stakeholders and sustainable fashion followers alike due to the recent news that the company regularly burns through millions of pounds worth of products to maintain exclusivity.
The Times earlier reported approx £28 million worth of goods were destroyed last year to avoid them falling into the hands of the “wrong people.” The company has since come forward saying that they harness the energy from burning to make the process more eco-friendly but, understandably, this doesn’t quite lessen the blow.
