Taking to Instagram to announce the pending collaboration, Karl Lagerfeld and Kenneth Ize recently unveiled they’d be teaming up for the release of a spring 2021 capsule collection set to launch in April next year.
One of the more surprising partnership reveals in recent times, the duo’s collection is set to feature elements of traditional African artistry and craftsmanship but little else is known of the drop. Speaking to WWD, however, Kenneth did allude to an organic pairing with elements of both brand’s aesthetic to be fused together:
“The breadth of Karl’s work has been very inspiring to me, and it’s an honor to be working with his namesake maison, our vision is to combine Karl’s Parisian-chic aesthetic with elements of traditional African artistry.”
