Rei Kawakubo’s COMME des GARCONS Shirt line has customised two pairs of Asics sneakers for its Spring/Summer’21 collection.
The brand takes different approaches for its take on the TARTHER and Winjob CP303. The latter, a running shoe from the Japanese sportswear label, is given two new colourways with a blue or pink option, both having identical black, white and gold accents across the rest of the shoe.
Meanwhile, the TARTHER, a shoe designed for kitchen workers, comes in an off white colourway with an illustration on the toe box. Created by Chinese artist Yue Minjun, his smiling pink figures are used to update the front of the shoe for a distinctive design.
The COMME des GARCONS SHIRT’s ASICS TARTHER collaboration is expected to drop in February 2021, with the Winjob CP303 following in April.
