Coming to the end of their 27-year reign in fashion, Raf Simons and his namesake label have unveiled its Spring/Summer 2023 collection campaign for one of the Belgian designer’s final creative ventures with the brand.
Unveiled via Instagram yesterday, Raf Simons’ Spring/Summer 2023 collection recently debuted in London and received a batch of mixed reviews from onlookers, with many seeing direct influence from his time at other major fashion houses. Whilst some of the many signifiers of Raf Simons existed within the runway range, many saw the more formal and understated silhouettes as a strange change of pace for the designer. In regards to the recently released campaign imagery, many of Raf’s standout style choices emerge from the shadows, with a combative, grunge aesthetic taking centre stage once more. Some central standouts from the campaign imagery included silver metallic chains and locks tied around each look, forming that undeniable Raf Simons air to the stills, frayed and distressed bottoms and cropped tops, as well as a host of perfectly measured mohair jumper and button-down shirt combinations.
