British luxury brand Mulberry have tapped Swedish-born outfit Axel Arigato for a new limited-edition capsule collection that features a range of unisex bags, footwear, and accessories.
Touching down for a rare collaboration, Mulberry have unveiled their newest effort with cutting-edge Scandinavian brand Axel Arigato, with this range of pieces marrying the modern take on fashion that the latter bring with Mulberry’s signature silhouettes and British dedication to quality. This 35-piece collection looks heavily into the Mulberry archives and is inspired by distinctly memorable pop-culture moments of the past 50 years. These forward-thinking pieces include leather bags that are inspired by three archive Mulberry designs, the first of which being Mulberry’s Oversized Bayswater, which is the largest iteration to the outfit’s signature bag. Additionally, the Top Handle bag reimagines the Maddison silhouette, reworking it as a multi-wear bag, whilst the Shoulder bag covers all bases as a contemporary evening bag. Coming in a selection of luxurious colourways, with some standouts being emerald green, azure blue, black and monochrome. Bringing in a dose of Axel Arigato, varsity jackets, split-colour trenches and simple denim take up some of the ready-to-wear garment slots, with the Swedish brand’s sleek Area sneaker also making an appearance, being adorned by Mulberry’s iconic Postman’s lock and custom strap.
In a statement about the joint capsule collection, Albin Johanson, Axel Arigato co-founder, stated:
“Although founded in Sweden, since its inception Axel Arigato has been particularly welcomed by the UK, and so to launch a collaboration with Mulberry, a brand firmly embedded in British fashion history, feels like a naturally intuitive partnership to roll out.”
Launching on April 17th, the Mulberry x Axel Arigato capsule collection will be available via the Axel Arigato and Mulberry websites.
