A Final Farewell.
Luxury American fashion designer Tom Ford has announced that this new collection under his eponymous brand will be his last, with this latest campaign paying tribute to some of his most iconic archival looks.
Featuring the likes of Karen Elson, Joan Smalls, and Amber Valletta, this latest effort from Tom Ford sees the first women’s lineup and other signature fashion moments take the floor, with this newest entry acting as an ode to the archives and Ford’s favourite looks from the past 13 years of design. Having sold the brand to Estée Lauder back in late 2022 for an estimated $2.8 billion, Tom Ford has historically been wary of having his name attached to anything that was dictated by another creative entity, with last year’s sale having most likely been the first indication of a step back from the limelight.
In a previous interview with Vogue, Ford stated:
“The day I don’t love to do it, I’ll sell it. Because we’re all only here for a little while, and nothing we do or make has any permanence at all. […] I care now because I’m doing it. I want to be proud of what I do. Which may be 10 or 20 years; who knows?”
