Another Exit.
After several recent rumours and official step downs for some of the most high-profile high-fashion creative directors, most recently seen with Bally and Rhuigi Villaseñor, it looks as though the trend is set to continue as Ludovic de Saint Sernin becomes the latest designer to step down from their role, exiting Ann Demeulemeester.
Spending one season with the Belgian fashion house, Ludovic de Saint Sernin is stepping down from his role as creative director with immediate effect, having only been appointed back in December 2022. After relatively positive reviews from his Paris Fashion Week show back in March, it was expected that de Saint Sernin’s sensual and sleek approach to design would give Ann Demeulemeester a new edge, but this latest news leaves the latter having to undertake a new direction. In rumoured speculation about why both parted ways, it is speculated that there were potential management issues between de Saint Sernin and Ann Demeulemeester, whilst others also stated that de Saint Sernin struggled to strike a balance between running his namesake label and Ann Demeulemeester at the same time.
Let us know your thoughts on the news below and who you would like to see at the helm of Ann Demeulemeester moving forward.
