An intersection of culture and sensory experience.
A. A. Spectrum’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection explores the intertwining themes of ‘Synaesth-theasia’ and kite symbolism. As the shoot takes us on a multi-sensory journey to Africa, it captures the spirit of freedom and joy in kite-flying, as well as the rhythmic beat of local artistry.
The campaign was shot in Accra’s Jamestown against the vibrant backdrop of ‘Synaesth-theasia’, where every garment tells a story of intertwined senses. It celebrates cross-sensory experiences such as tasting colour or feeling sound. At the heart of the campaign lies a collaboration with JEAH, which creates intricately crafted Egungun masks bearing a contemporary twist on the local cultural identity.Masks like these represent the intersection of cultural identity and contemporary style.
